How TaxPilot works

From everyday activity to reviewed records.

TaxPilot is built as a continuous workflow. You set up the workspace once, collect records as the year happens, review decisions when they matter and prepare from the result.

1

Create the account

Sign up, verify your email, choose a username and display name, set your work profile and add one or more work activities such as sole trader work.

2

Configure the workspace

Set the financial-year context, tax settings and GST/BAS preferences that apply to the way you work.

3

Connect or import

Add supported bank/provider connections, import statements, scan receipts, bring in trips or create invoices directly in TaxPilot.

4

Review the decisions

Classify records, confirm trips, resolve duplicates, link missing evidence and check GST treatment before the data is treated as ready.

The difference

Review is part of the system, not an end-of-year emergency.

A useful record is more than a number. TaxPilot keeps the source, evidence, category and review state together so you can understand why a record is there later.

Source + evidence

Imported bank activity, scanned receipts, uploaded statements and provider data can all contribute to a record while the original supporting file stays available.

Decision + review state

Records that need a human decision are surfaced for review. Once resolved, the workspace can keep that review state so the same item does not endlessly return as unfinished work.

Timeline + context

Calendar and Activity views make it easier to understand what happened around a particular date instead of treating records as isolated spreadsheet rows.

Preparation + output

Tax, GST/BAS and reporting views are built from the reviewed workspace. That means preparation starts with the evidence rather than trying to reconstruct it after the fact.
