Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 5 October 2026
1. Agreement
These Terms & Conditions apply to your use of the TaxPilot website, applications and related services. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms and the Privacy Policy.
2. What TaxPilot provides
TaxPilot provides software for organising work and business records. Features may include transaction and document management, receipt capture, statement imports, invoices, trips/kilometres, calendar/activity views, connected data sources, GST/BAS preparation tools, reports, notifications, backups and record-based tax estimates.
3. TaxPilot is not the ATO and does not replace professional advice
TaxPilot is not an Australian Taxation Office product. Unless explicitly stated otherwise for a particular service, TaxPilot does not act as your registered tax agent, accountant, financial adviser or lawyer. Estimates, categories, GST treatment suggestions and other outputs are tools for review and may not reflect every rule or individual circumstance.
4. ATO lodgement and tax-return services
Direct ATO lodgement, payment or other production DSP/API functions are only available if TaxPilot has the required access and arrangements for that service. Any tax-return lodgement service must also operate through the registrations and arrangements required by Australian law. The presence of preparation screens does not mean direct lodgement is available.
5. Accounts and security
You are responsible for keeping your account credentials and devices secure, providing accurate account information, reviewing security notifications and notifying us if you believe your account has been compromised. You must not share credentials in a way that defeats account security controls.
6. Your records and review responsibility
You are responsible for reviewing information imported, extracted, detected or suggested by TaxPilot before relying on it. This includes receipt extraction, transaction categories, trip classifications, invoice details, GST treatment and tax/BAS figures. Automated processing can be incomplete or incorrect.
7. Connected providers
Banking, driver, commerce and other integrations depend on third-party availability, permissions, production access and provider terms. A provider may change or discontinue access. You authorise the applicable data access when you connect a provider and may revoke it through the supported workflow.
8. Invoices and communications
You are responsible for the accuracy and legality of invoices or messages you create and send using TaxPilot, including customer details, payment information, tax treatment and due dates. Delivery by email or other communication channel depends on the production provider and recipient systems.
9. Backups
Where backup export and restore are available, you are responsible for securely storing exported backup files. You should maintain any independent copies required for your business continuity or legal recordkeeping needs.
10. Acceptable use
You must not misuse TaxPilot, attempt unauthorised access, interfere with security or availability, upload malicious content, use the service for fraud or unlawful activity, infringe another person’s rights, or use connected data in a way that breaches applicable provider terms or law.
11. Early access and beta features
Some TaxPilot features may be offered as early access, preview or beta functionality. They may change, contain defects, be unavailable at times or be withdrawn before general release. Do not rely on preview functionality as your only recordkeeping or compliance system.
12. Intellectual property
TaxPilot and its software, design, branding and original content remain the property of their respective owner(s). You retain ownership of the records and content you lawfully submit, subject to the permissions needed for TaxPilot to process that content and provide the service.
13. Availability and changes
We may improve, change, limit or discontinue parts of the service, including integrations, where necessary for product, security, provider or legal reasons. We do not guarantee that every feature or provider will always be available.
14. Disclaimer
To the extent permitted by law, TaxPilot is provided on an “as available” basis. Nothing in these terms excludes guarantees, rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law or other applicable law.
15. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, TaxPilot is not responsible for loss caused by information you fail to review, unavailable third-party services, inaccurate third-party data, loss of credentials, insecure exported backups or use of the service contrary to these terms. Any liability that cannot be excluded is limited only to the extent permitted by law.
16. Suspension or termination
Access may be restricted or terminated for serious misuse, security risk, unlawful activity or material breach of these terms. Where reasonable and lawful, we may provide notice and an opportunity to export relevant data.
17. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the product and service model change. Material changes should be communicated through the website, product or account contact details.
18. Governing law
Unless a different law is required by applicable consumer law, these terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia, and the parties submit to the courts with jurisdiction there.
19. Contact
Questions about these terms can be sent through the TaxPilot Contact page. The final commercial version should identify the operating legal entity and its business contact details.
